The Magic of Microblading

The Magic of Microblading

It’s no secret. The days of pencil-thin and over-tweezed eyebrows are over. But the constant maintenance of plucking, shaping and filling can be extremely time consuming (and not to mention painful!). So what’s a gal to do? Microblading.

The process has quickly become one of the hottest ways to step up your brow game and for very, very good reasons. It’s finally time to toss your brow gel and #WakeUpLikeThis. Lucky for you, we now offer the service at Boeau Belle. Read on to find out more.

Microblading helps to enhance the natural shape and beauty of your brows. Similar to tattooing, it is a semi-permanent makeup application process considered to be something of an art form by professionals. Our specialists will painstakingly paint on your new brows, using techniques to help mimic individual hairs—which ultimately creates the optical illusion of thicker, fuller brows. The meticulous process takes around two hours to complete, but like any other work of art, a masterpiece takes time!

Before beginning, we’ll apply topical anesthetics to help keep you comfortable throughout the process. We’ll then measure and outline your desired shape, get the okay from you, and fill in the spots that need it. The pigment will be bladed into the dermal layer of the skin (just below the epidermis) for a grown-in look and full appearance.

Initially, the pigment will be darker in color. However, it will fade as the week goes on—it’s all part of the process that helps the end result look as natural as possible. About a month after your procedure, we’ll schedule a touch-up to ensure everything looks flawless. After that, you’ll only need a touch-up every six months to a year (depending on your personal preferences). These appointments are much quicker than your initial appointment and will focus on filling in missing hairs or darkening your overall color.

Before you leave, we’ll discuss after-care in detail, but here’s an idea of what you can expect. Microblading requires no downtime, yet there are some activities we recommend you avoid post-procedure. For starters, ditch the swimming pool (and any hot saunas, Jacuzzi tubs or excessive sun exposure) for at least a week. Not to worry—you can still shower and work out as usual, but be sure to avoid excessive sweating and longer than normal showers.

You’ll most likely experience some itching, scabbing, swelling and a dry, tight feeling—but this is all completely normal. Do stop yourself from picking any forming scabs (it’s a temptation, we know) to ensure you heal promptly and properly. Once we give you the go-ahead, you’re free to revert back to your normal beauty routine—without all those time-consuming brow products, of course ;)

The big reveal will have you saying, “I can’t believe I didn't do this sooner!” The freedom of tossing your brow pencils, powders and gels (and letting yourself hit the snooze button a few extra times) will give you a confidence that is actually game changing. How’s that for #WakingUpLikeThis? Let the selfies commence.
